Driveways, Paths and Patios – A complete guide

May 30, 2011

A comprehensive guide to paving

If anyone is planning to have a new patio, paving or driveway around the home, it’s worthwhile undertaking a little background reading on the subject before you start. Many decisions need to be made from the outset with regards choosing materials, the design and the method of construction.

Unfortunately, the hard paving industry is notorious for “cowboy” contractors who provide a sub-standard product that quickly deteriorates. This leaves the homeowner with a surface that either sinks, cracks or becomes covered in puddles.

However, help is at hand in Tony McCormack’s excellent hardback book entitled Driveways, Paths and Patios. Why not visit his website at

The book is full of detailed advice on everything concerning this topic. More importantly, the McCormacks have been paving for 40 years!!

The book is about £14 incl p+p and is a great investment to help ensure a satisfying result.
