The post “Restoring my front door” this time last year highlighted the work done to reinstate the joinery and the transom glass above the door. I’m now in a position to start getting the leaded glass made which will fill the 10 glazing panels either side of the door.

I’m using Michael Fennelly Specialist Restoration of East Finchley to make the new panels and will be posting a more comprehensive account of his work in the new year.

An example of what he’s trying to copy is photographed opposite. Michael will be using original glass where possible, which’ll make the panels as authentic as possible.
